Either You came Onto the Earth As a Genius, or You Came On as Less Than a Genius

Last night, my sister said, "I've begun to realize I'll never be a genius."  I just thought one can't become a genius.  Either you are a genius, or you aren't.  I don't have aspirations of becoming a genius.  I have the luck of having an above-average mind, and that satisfies me.  This just explains the way genetics work.  Either you have the luck of having a super-brain, or you don't.  The topic of "geniusdom" came up in watching the short films of David Lynch.  My sister calls him a genius.  He made most of his short films as a student, so they, although completely weird (one can take weird as a sign of a genius' work), seemed a little rough, and pretentious, to me.  During his present directing years, in my opinion, David Lynch has become an excellent director.  Just as genetics decides intelligence, genetics also decides attractiveness.  David Lynch doesn't look so good.

Phrasing Paradox

I have a conundrum about a commonly used phrase.  I wonder about the origin of "I'll take care of you."  One doesn't take care.  One gives care.  This question probably has an obvious answer, but I have no clue how to find an answer.

Obligatory Response

A few people asked me during Christmas, if I liked the gift he or she gave me.  I, obviously, said "yes" in order not to hurt his or her feelings.  Did he or she expect me to say "no", and give a long explanation of why not?

Things That Piss On My Existence

Somebody must like these things:

the Freehold/Chrysler/Jeep commercial
Maroon 5
Bruce Springsteen
the Faux Hawk
skin-tight jeans
un-flavored yogurt
Bon Jovi
wearing a baseball cap, while presenting hair on the forehead, or wearing the cap too loosely (like Jason Dufner)
overly branded clothing
photos online of things I have not eaten
Train
Creed
Cleatus - the Fox football robot
music by the rapper "Drake"

Offensive

I become so angry when someone tells me I can't do something.  The other day, to make a point about the challenges I've overcome, my dad said, "Just a month ago you couldn't put on your socks."  I then said, "I could.  I just didn't feel like it."  Most of my recovery comes from the fact I believe I can do anything humanly possible.  My dad then said he used the word "couldn't" for the sake of expediency.

Animalia

As fellow animals, we should love beasts (dogs and cats) more.  I love animals more than I ever used to, so join me in the embrace of animals.

Sara Maclaughlin

I just saw one of those commercial aimed to make people feel bad about the plight of potential pets, and anyone who feels comfortable embracing the emotional side out the human psyche, can't help but recognize the animals on the screen look incredibly cute, and awesome.

"The Time Is Now"

I have had a difficult time distinguishing between the present, and the future.  What counts as the present?  Songs like Annie'"Tomorrow", and the Fleetwood Mac song that goes,"don't stop thinking about tomorrow", put a lot of emphasis on the future, as if we shouldn't think about the present.

Don't Call Me An Architect

People call me an architect all of the time, just because I have a Master's degree in architecture, but I haven't taken the licensing exam in architecture, and I haven't had an apprenticeship, therefore I haven't become an architect.

My mom just told me I should change the name of my blog to Profoundly Irrelevant Meditations.  what a stubborn female

Dependent

I know what the British (pre-1776) felt like, and I can relate to the feelings of black people before the abolition of slavery.  I don't claim I feel like a slave.  This wheelchair just enslaves me, and I depend on many people, currently.

Declaration of Dependence

Every small move I make goes under analyzation.  I can't wait until I gain independence, and people can, finally, leave me alone.  I'd never thought I'd yearn for silence so much.

Thought Progression

I want to know the progression of thoughts that go through a cat's mind as he or she plays with a dangling thing on the end of a string.  I think the progression goes something like this:  1.  Oh, something to play with.  I'll attack it.  2.  Oh, the small thing makes an appearance, once again.  I'll get that small thing.  3.  Again with that little.  I'll destroy it, out of anger for it's existence.

A Cat's Faux Paw

Cats have no concern with the public image they present.  A cat will lick his or her asshole in public, and goes right back to licking his or her paw.  Shit evacuates from the asshole, and he or she uses the paw to clean his or her face.  Cats have a shit face, let alone having a shit tongue.

Football and Penises

I just realized the homosexuality of football. I have the football Giants game on my TV, and I turn around to talk to my mom.  As I turn around to watch the TV, I see two men laying with each other on the ground, both wearing football uniforms.

An Important Question About Headaches

I have a question about anatomy.  I know, from experience, the right hemisphere of the brain controls the left side of the body.  Does this phenomenon ever stop?  When someone describes a headache on his or her right side of the head, does the headache happen to right brain cells?

Word Conundrum

What word means the opposite of nonchalant?  Chalant isn't a word.  Normally, the resulting word when the prefix "non" precedes the root word means the opposite of the root word.  I have a word conundrum.

I Ran Fast, In the Past

In my time at rehab, I see mad therapists I would've smoked in a race, and these freaking people teach me how to become independent.  I just think I would have killed you in a race.  I need to replace that past tense with present tense.

Avoid laziness

Needing to work hard to accomplish almost everything has made me realize people usually choose the lazier path, when given a choice.  I went, with my dad, to the Freehold Mall, and I must use the elevator to transport from floor to floor.  I had to wait on a line to allow some fat ladies to use the elevator.  They literally all had too much fat, and they literally all had boobs.  fat, and boobs

Expectation

I want a person to use the acronym "LOL" to signify actual laughter, instead of just an indication of funniness. If I had my way, society would cease to use that acronym.

Beef With the Schools

As a 28 year, and 9 month old intellectual, I think I know a little bit about learning.  I have a problem with our public school system, or at least the system I learned in.  In retrospect, I realize the limitations of the school system.  The school system break things into "disciplines" (math, language arts, history, science).  The school system should go with a more interdisciplinary approach.  I recommend the school system should only teach one subject.  This probably seems ridiculous to most people.  Most people think with a segregated mindset, where math and english shouldn't mix. I, presently, can write well, but I used to have a label as a "math person", because I could perform math equations easily, and I sucked at writing.  Not until recently have I realized the overlap between math, and english.  A lot of structure goes into an essay.  As far as vocabulary goes, one uses similar memorization skills that one would use in memorizing math techniques.  Once I went to graduate  school, I realized I had very deficient drawing skills.  Most people might tell me I can draw very well, but put my drawings next to an Art major's, and you can always tell which drawing belongs to the person who majored in art.  I believe art should have more weight in public schools.  We can mix art with most subjects.

Human Beings Can't Fly

The casual use of superlatives, like can't, upset me.  Usually, a person can do something, it just takes a very huge amount of effort to do that thing, and that person says he or she "can't".  Quoting my physical therapist:  "you can, you just currently have a hard time doing it."

Bobble-head

With all of the attractive women passing by my sightline, the incessant chatter, shitty music and other loud shit polluting the air waves, and my brain damage, one must understand why I have difficulty focusing.

Liberal-Republican

I've grown sick of a lot my friends (my liberal friends) blindly supporting the democratic party.  Democrats support socialism, fiscally.  The socialist form of government resembles closely the dictatorship form of government.  America's founding fathers formed America to oppose a dictatorship.  I, personally, don't want to share my money with lazy individuals through taxes.  I agree some people have a poor position in life, but a person can improve his or her position through a privately-formed group.  I, completely, believe a person can improve his or her position through hard work.  Not to "toot my own horn", I have a shitty position, now, but I endure 4 therapies weekly to become healthy.  My accident has taught me the power of the human will.  I never thought this would happen to me.  Most people don't expect to have a snowboarding accident.  One would be surprised what he or she can accomplish, if he or she must.

Keep Singing, Fluffin

My kitten released a hot track entitled "Something Evils Lives Under the Mats in the Kitchen".

Yes, You Can

I met someone, recently, who had a brain injury.  She said she "couldn't" control her left arm.  I suspect she had some control over her left arm.  She said she couldn't based on society's interpretation of the words can, and can't.  We too often say we can't do something when we have a difficult time doing that thing.  I use to say I couldn't control my left appendages.  I just have more difficulty controlling them than my right appendages.

Twisted Brain

Especially since March 9, 2011, my mind works in weird ways.

Refund

I played a word-finding game in speech therapy, today.  I had to come up with the word "refund", and, for some reason, I found that word funny.  I have no idea why I found the word "refund" funny.  I just kept thinking of a skit that an actor would repeatedly say the word "refund", and that made me laugh.  My speech therapist kept trying to move on to a new subject, but I couldn't forget the word "refund".  When I told her "refund" made me laugh, she definitely thought less of me.  My speech therapist read this, and she assured me she doesn't think less of me.

Epistemology

I want to see myself from somebody else's point-of-view.

Two New Must-hear Tracks

My kitten just released two tracks entitled "Unjustified Running", and, a follow-up to her old song "Cute and Bad" (a cover of Franki's hit), entitled "Incredibly Cute and Sneaky".

A Huge Dilemma

I play Sudoku on websudoku.com, and I absolutely despise when I click on "How am I doing?", and it responds "Something's not right in one of the cells".  If I ask "How am I doing?", and I have a mistake, obviously I have no idea where I made the mistake.  I try not to make any mistakes.  Just highlight the mistakes, and I'll delete them.

Hear This Shit

Fluffin just released a new track entitled "Pen Ballad".

Music Lovers

You must hear my kitten's cover of Franki's title track off of the album "Cute and Bad".

Silence!

I heard an obnoxious lady, yesterday, yapping my ear off, in rehab.  I should cease to criticize so quickly, because I don't know the intricacy of somebodies injury.  I have one point to make, resulting from the anger I felt because of this chatter.  Humans become uncomfortable no silence.  I find this fact quite disturbing.  I enjoy silence.  Silence gives me time to relax.  I love the void.  In a generally noise-polluted world, I cherish a break in all of the noise.

The "Like" Button II

The "like" button on facebook, in terms of tense, makes no sense.  I have an activity recording on my facebook  profile page that says I "liked" Lil' Bub, as if I once liked it, and ceased to like it.  Don't use passive voice when I still like something.  Apparently, liking something has become a time-specific action.

Alteration in my Politics

Recovering from my accident has taught me a valuable lesson about the human psyche.  My recovery has taught me the strength of the human spirit.  Humans do most things selfishly.  Even when one jumps in front of a bullet to save a loved one, I think that impulse has selfish reasoning.  Think about it. Wouldn't you rather die than live without your mom (assuming you love your mom)?  This has caused me to change my political stance.  I once considered myself a liberal democrat.  I once thought people could accomplish things better, and quicker as a community.  In other words, I considered myself a "socialist".  Things can only get done better if the people trying to do the things know each other.  Socialism doesn't work in practice and in reality.  I hated when teachers tried to tell me Marx had a good system in theory, but not a good system in practice.  If the system doesn't work, doesn't that make it a bad system?  I have turned into a liberal republican.  In other words, I consider myself a follower of the "Tea Party".  A lot of the schmucks have joined the "Tea Party", unfortunately, who consider themselves hardcore republican, and, thus, he or she behaves like a dipshit.

New Band

I've started a new band named "Leviathan Entrails".

Jerry Springer

Jerry!  Jerry!  Jerry!  Jerry!

Barack

I know I have put him down before, but Barack Obama has eloquence, and he represents our country well.  I, mainly, disagree with his politics.  I think politics mean something for our president.

Public Enemy

As my family watched the benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy, I  said, "turn this off."  I said this, because I have a natural aversion to people worshipping celebrities.  Christina Aguilerra didn't do  shit, beside having a gifted voice from birth, and filling her body with silicon, and plastic, and dressing provocatively, to receive her "celebrity status".  I immediately realized I said the wrong thing, and these celebrities, actually, wanted to accomplish something good.

Overweight Governor

We should all ask ourself, "How can a man with two chins have so much ambition with politics?"  He, obviously, treats eating with no concern.

Chumlynn

My new kitten, Fluffin, has just released a solo album entitled "I Eat Everything".

Chris Christie Has Labeled Today Halloween

My door bell rang today, and I thought, "Who has come to visit?"  Alas, we just had some "trick-or-treaet-ers".  Today has been named Halloween by our governor.

Just Chill

My recovery from my accident has made me come to realize something about life.  Just go with whatever happens to you.  Don't regret anything.  I don't regret going snowboarding on March 9, 2011.    Maybe I should have had a snowboarding accident.  Everything I've done before I injured myself, from running in a half-marathon to my "all-nighters" in graduate school, have prepared me for my accident.  In a way I consider myself lucky, because I've made many friends through this recovery.  I had over 500 people, including some therapists, walk or run in my 5K, and walking with my parents across the finish line makes me look brave, in other peoples eyes.  Some days, I just shrug my injuries off, and think I have so much luck.

Perspective

In the middle of complaining about having no internet, a DJ, on the radio, gave the death toll, in New Jersey, since Hurricane Sandy hit, and that really put things in perspective.  After I heard that, I stopped complaining.  At least everyone close to me, and I still have our lives.

Alteration in Perception of Effort

My recovery from my accident has definitely altered what I perceive as tremendous effort.  I have difficulty putting on a shirt, and I have to hear a person complaining about walking to retrieve something.  I would love to ambulate unassisted.

The "Like" Button

I have a question regarding the tense of the "like" button on Facebook.  Facebook should offer many options for "liking" something.  What if one liked something, in the past tense?  Facebook should offer a "liked" button, so one can alter the status of his or her liking.

Hurricane Sandy

I really want to see one these reporters get blown away, while he or she reports in the middle of the storm.

Chris Christie

I suggest a weigh limit for a person who wants to run for governor.

Acceptable Mate

I need to find a female who I find acceptable farting in front of me.  I will truly love the women who can, acceptably, poop in front me.  The important question of what comes first, follows: Love or pooping?

Tim Tebow on Grammar

I've had enough of writers making  grammatical errors.  My frustration doesn't stem from small mistakes, but my frustration stems from egregious errors, such as starting a sentence with "and".  The fact that these schmohawks receive money to write this crap makes my feel like somebody should pay me to write this blog.

Intelligibilty

I greatly dislike talking with an annoying person.  To add my frustration, I must raise my voice for the person to understand me.  This person, actually, motivates me to lower my voice, in the hope this person becomes fed up, and makes up an excuse to exit the premise.  This tears me between speaking more intelligibly, so this person doesn't think ill of me, and speaking less intelligibly to force this person out of my presence.

Alter My Suit

I dislike when a person alters a word to display emphasis by adding letters, like altering so to "sooooooo".  This just alters the pronunciation of the word.  This alters the normal pronunciation of the word to a sound one makes when one says the word "food", or a completely unknown pronunciation.  Just capitalize the word or embolden it.

Friendship Growth

I just remembered I wanted to announce something before the race, yesterday.  So, I'll, just, post the announcement here.  I wanted to announce all of my therapists have become my friends, if he or she desires my friendship.

Transcend

All of the on-lookers provided me with extra motivation to walk across the finish line, yesterday.  I really wanted to impress people.  I don't lie when I say my recovery results from a collection of my family and my friends motivating me.  When I go to therapy, the thought of impressing my awesome family and my awesome friends motivates me.

Questions of Nomenclature

I have a couple questions regarding nomenclature.  You have your parent's cousin as your "second cousin".  Then, what category does your 2nd cousin's children fall under?  Does a category exist?  Ask yourself these thought-provoking questions.

Can't We All Just Get Along

I made a decision to change my behavior, yesterday.  A man yelled in the cafeteria, and I passed judgement on him as talking too loud, and having a terrible personality.  My physical therapist, then, introduced me to this man.  He turned out to have a very friendly personality, and he had a very acceptable sense of humor.  Brain injuries affect people in different ways, and his brain injury probably gave him a difficult time doing things that others find "socially acceptable", and I shouldn't pass judgement on brain injury  patients so easily.  The fact that I found out that I, actually, liked this man taught me a valuable lesson.  I need to accept other humans more readily.

Animal Instinct

I wonder about the inner workings of cats' minds.  What and how does a cat think?  I think about this because I have a new kitty, named Fluffin, and my dad said, "What language does Fluffin think in?"  I find this question very thought-provoking.

Genius II

I have trouble believing a human discovered the concept for Sudoku.

The Sound and the Fury

I have an aid that drives me to therapy.  One day, he told me I can turn the radio to a station I like.  So, I browsed through the stations.  After hearing one torturous song after the other, I decided to turn the radio off.  I would rather have silence than pulsing/obnoxious beats.  My aid promptly turned the radio back on.  This declares something horrible about society:  the preference of disturbing sound over silence.  What ever happened to peace and quiet?

Space, Time and Traumatic Injuries

Yesterday, I watched my friends, from my wheelchair, playing soccer, in the alumni game.  I thought, "Why the hell do I sit here just watching my old teammates playing soccer, a game I love."  This reminded me I need to become healthy, and start running soon.  I have used this wheelchair for too long.  The time has almost come for me to start playing soccer, again.

Friday, September 21, 2012

Handicapable

When I wait for a toilet stall in the bathroom, I usually see a person walking out of the handicap stall.  The injuries I have sustained from my accident have made me respect disabled people, much more.  When I had an easy time walking, I would use the handicap stall, often.  When I don't need to, I won't use the handicap stall, again.

Accept

My recovery has definitely taught me the range of social acceptability.  People at therapy act much nicer than people in the "real" world.  A person behaves nicer, because, in part, a lot of patients come into his or her life, he or she doesn't know who he or she has met, and he or she chooses to act very nice, and, furthermore, common curtiousty teaches a person to treat an impaired person nice.  I receive many waves from therapists, I think, I haven't met (I put I think there just because I might have met him or her, and I can't remember meeting him or her.  My short-term memory sucks.)  A person with a brain injury has trouble controlling himself or herself, and has trouble remembering the people in his or her "circle of friends", and decides to take the safe route, as a result of, possibly, not remembering a person, and wave to many people.  My range of social acceptability has definitely widened, as a result of my accident.  I have decided to compliment someone if I can think to compliment him or her.  If a female looks pretty, just tell her she looks pretty.  No one will judge you, because of 1 compliment.  If she doesn't have a fiancé or a husband maybe, in the future, her and you will make out.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

What the Hell?

I become very angry when a person types out the letters or writes the letters for the word slash, instead of just hitting or writing: /.  If you prefer to type or write, just type or write the word or.  5 has a greater value than 1 slash 2.  These little things about society will make me insane.

Yes, We Can II

This morning, my dad took off my deodorant cap, to assist me, and I said, "I can do that." This made think of a blog entry.  If I always claimed to not have the ability to do things, I would still remain in inpatient, right now.  Nothing ever gets accomplished by sitting on one's ass.  Too often, a  person says "I can't" when he or she can.  He or she just has difficulty in accomplishing the task, currently, but that doesn't mean he or she can't do it.  My home physical therapist always tells me I can do things, I just have difficulty doing them, currently.  I need assistance walking, right now, but the doesn't mean I will always need assistance walking.  One day, I will run, again.  Sometimes, we don't give ourselves enough  credit.  Some people decide to give up too quickly.  My speech therapist tells me I give up too quickly, instead of sticking with the problem.  When I attempt something that seems impossible, at first, I promptly quit.  When my speech therapist convinces me to not give up, I end up solving the problem, and solving a problem feels a lot better than quitting.  Often times, if you want to quit at first, stick with it, and you might solve something you didn't think you could solve, originally.  When I couldn't talk, I would feel bad for myself, and I would type to my speech therapist I would never talk.  Now, when I visit her, and talk to her, she grins, and says, "I knew you could talk."  I have come a long way since my coma.  I would start listing the accomplishments since March 9th, but listing the accomplishments would take too much time out of my day.

Genius

Whoever came up with the concept for "Sudoku" has a vast intellect.

It's Getting Better All the Time

In my situation, I must wake up and approach the day with a positive attitude.  I have no room, in my brain, for a defeatist attitude.  I must approach the day with the thought I will do a much better job in my therapies than I have ever done.  In my opinion, people would enjoy living much better if everyone lived with the attitude that one's life displays the function of enjoyment in a positive trend. This explains a graph of time on the x-axis, and enjoyment on the y-axis, where y increases, consistently, as x increases.  Every human should have his or her "emotional droughts", so I don't suggest living with "rose colored glasses".  I consider myself a realist with good self-control.  The coordinates can go down at times, but the coordinates should display an overall positive trend.  Don't live your life with a negative trend.

Papa Don't Preach

I feel a need to preach about my spirituality.  I don't following any "mainstream religion".  I do follow something called Non-duality.  Non-duality has a closeness to Buddhism, in the sense we should follow a concept that everyone exists as "one".  Kind of contradictory, that I write this as an "individual", and you read this as an "individual".  Believe me, it feels awesome when you imagine yourself existing in "oneness" with your surroundings.  Often, I feel myself separated from my surroundings, but when I feel connected to everything, I feel phenomenal.  I have smoked weed, before, and I know how it feels to become high, and you receive a "natural high" when you feel at "one" with your surroundings.  "Natural highs" feel a lot greater than weed highs.  Just like runner's high, you receive the added sensation of not harming your body, and that feels fantastic.  So, when you have an opportunity, look at everything that surrounds you, and just imagine yourself disintegrating.  That ends my attempt at acting like a spiritual "guru".  Just trust me, feeling at one with your surroundings feels fantastic.

I used to think someone who has a close bond with animals has a deficiency in his or her bond with humans.  Now that I love my cat, I understand the transcendental bond people feel towards an animal.  My cat looks so cute, and she does the most precious things.  Our bond goes beyond puppy love.  Now that I have an impairment, I feel much closer to animals.  I, actually, share a lot, in common, with animals, specifically cats.  Cats have to work hard to achieve what they want, and, although, cats may seem a little annoying at times, we still appreciate the effort.  I can seem annoying at times, but my annoyances always have an endearing side.  I hope people notice this.  We both annoy, but, at the same time, love my mother, in part, because she feeds us.  We share a similar schedule.  My cat and I both nap often, as a result of feeling exhausted from the waking hours.  I wake up early, because I have a tough time sleeping, and I can always count on taking the energy from my cat's aura.  She gives me natural caffeine.  In addition, the fact I wake up early frustrates my mother, because my mom hates waking up to makes sure my hair looks nice, and my dad doesn't screw it up.  So, in conclusion, cats and I have many traits in common, and I feel very close to my cat.

Second in Receiving Pleasure, Only, to Experiencing An Orgasm: Solving a Sudoku Puzzle

I hate when I play Sudoku, and I realize the board has been laid out incorrectly.  I will never solve this  puzzle.

Ages

I have 28 years of age, and I have more years of age than most famous athletes.  This fact makes me feel old, along with the fact that I near 30 years old every day.  My parents must feel really old, then, given that he or she has more years of age than every professional athlete.

A Question of Luck and Existence

I realized something about my life.  I usually tell my parents about my luck to have them as parents, and one of them usually tells me about his or her luck to have me as a child.  If I had different parents, I would have a completely different brain and body.  Essentially, I would inhabit a different life, and I would've never had a birth.  In an oxymoronic twist, I wouldn't be me.   So, in conclusion, my parents have the only luck in the situation.
Don't mess with me.  I dominate everything.  You will regret giving me shit.

Bring in the Clowns

Now that Andy Roddick has retired, I won't get to see Brooklyn Decker's pretty face in the stands, anymore.  I feel so bad for myself, and I kind of feel bad for Andy Roddick that he retired after a loss.

Unacceptable Behavior

Incessant laziness by ambulatory people around me upsets me greatly.

Love and Communication

My recovery brings up an interesting question about individuality.  My therapists often say the left side of my body works when "I talk to it".  My therapists use the word "talk", although I don't literally talk to it, but I only communicate with it.

Body

Most people don't understand they should have entire body health for walking.  After an intense session of physical therapy my lower back hurts immensely, because walking puts major pressure on the back muscles.  I do abdominal exercises every morning, and these exercises substantially improve my ability to ambulate.

Plague

The following question often plagues me, when I watch a ladies' tennis match:  Should I root for Serena Williams or the attractive un-American that plays her?  I usually root for the un-American.

Conundrum

I despise the following terms:  Just thinking out-loud....  Can one, possibly, think out-loud?  So, I thought to myself.  Doesn't a person always think to oneself?

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Heisenberg

Life can strike a person with very uncertain stuff.  I would've never thought I'd have the inability to walk on March 10th.  As a runner, I pay very close attention to my physical health, so I never expected to have trouble walking.  Have preparation when "life" decides to knock you on your ass.

Shit Happens

At least, my accident has taught me one thing.  One should expect anything.  I trained for the New York Marathon when I had my accident.  So, I could run pretty fast when I had the ability to ambulate taken away from me.  I have a masters in Architecture, and the highest respect for thought, and I injured my brain.  What the hell?  Couldn't this mess have happened to somebody who doesn't give a crap about thinking or running?

Hypnotist

Brooklyn Decker has hypnotic boobs.  Her boobies hypnotize me, constantly.  If one stares at her boobs for a prolonged period of time, one undergoes hypnosis.

Ignore Context

I labeled an icon, on my computer, "franki spreads her legs" of a photo of Franki, literally, spreading her legs, and my Dad told me not to do that.  My dad had an aversion to the photo, because of the human context of a woman spreading her legs, as that women treating sex too nonchalantly, and acting like a slut.  I just wanted to accurately label the photograph, but, in this case, context hindered me.

New Single

Don't forget to hear my cat's new single, about how she loves to look outside, but she belongs indoors (every time she escapes outside she gets terribly afraid, and she retreats back inside),  entitled "Little Koobly's Plight".

My Brain and Epistemology

I injured several body parts in my accident, but I, still, have my sense of self.  As long as I live, I will, always, have my sense of self.  My sense of self keeps me going to therapy, twice a week, without complaining, because I want to feel healthy.  My voice may change, but I won't.

Why Can't Agnostics / Atheists Criticize Religion?

I decided to start writing on my blog, again, because I wanted to criticize a religious person on Facebook, and my mom implored me not to post such a thing a Facebook, because of the high exposure.  My mother follows Catholicism, and I have no problem with Catholics.  I just have a problem with religious people marginalizing my (completely logical) anti-religious viewpoints.

My Secret

When a person sees me scarfing down on food, he or she asks me to share "my secret" for maintaining my slender physique.  My secret: I work really hard in therapy 6 times a week, to recover from this awful accident.  I think my extremely hard work in therapy keeps me fit.  A person thinks he or she can magically lose calories by sitting on his or her ass.

Working Memory

I have a diagnosis of short-term memory loss, among several other things, from my snowboarding accident.  Supposedly, my cognition didn't get affected.  Didn't it, though?  Doesn't all cognition rely on the recollection of events that just happened?  I would contend that my accident affected my cognition a little bit.  I no longer have the intelligence of a genius, like I used to have, but I only have the cognition of a really smart person.  Doesn't an IQ of 197 make a person a genius?

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Distinguish

My accident has taught me to distinguish the difference between when you can't do something, or just have an extremely hard time accomplishing something.  I injured the right hemisphere of my brain, so I have a very long and difficult time accomplishing things with my left appendages, but I still have the ability to accomplish things with my left limbs.  I used to say I couldn't do something with my left appendages.  Relative to my healthy body, I just have an extremely difficult time accomplishing tasks with my left limbs.

Righty Loosy, Lefty Tighty

Tense

I don't want a person to refer to me as handicapped when he or she refers to me in the future.  I have very aggressive goals, and I expect to walk, alone, in the near future.  It kind of defines me as handicapped when one assumes that I will need this wheelchair in the future.  I don't think of myself as handicapped.  I think of myself as handicapable.

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Brain

The fact that I can muscle through a snowboarding  accident proves that I live positively.  I have made this post as an amendment to my earlier post about positivity and negativity.

Person

A person told me, the other day, "I preach a lot about positivity, but I post a lot of negative things on here."  I have one response to that claim.  I have a very positive attitude, but I make a lot of negative posts as an outlet to all the negative thoughts coursing through my brain.

The Red Sea

Most people think people who follow Sciencetology have a stupid religion, but I question the "mainstream" religions, like Christianity.  Mary had an "immaculate conception", and Moses parted a body of water.  I know  the events that Scientologists believe in sound extremely far-fetched, but what about Christianity?

The Human Condition

Some people, from birth, have a lot of love to give, and don't get enough love in return.  This "lack of love" causes this person to grow bitter towards other human beings, and he or she becomes very obnoxious, because he or she feels that the human race owes him or her something.  So, even the most loving person can annoy other people, and he or she believes that he or she has a right to act obnoxious, because of his or her "poor" treatment.  I expect little from others, so I don't grow too obnoxious.

Thursday, July 12, 2012

No, We Can't

Doubting my efforts just gives me more motivation.  If you want me to recover more quickly, just say I can't do something.  When I can walk, alone, I will laugh in the faces of those that doubted me. If you laugh at my effort I will hate you.

The Slush of the Sugar

The important existential question of, "Do I prefer a milkshake, or a shaved ice drink (like a Slushy or a Slurpee) to drink?" constantly plagues me.

Discomfort

My mom pointed out an interesting thing to me, today.  I have started to distinguish the difference between discomfort and extreme pain.  I used to scream, in agony, when I got soap in my left eye (this hurts as my injured brain has a difficult time moistening the eye, when it needs to).  A little soap in the eye won't kill anybody.  I hear people scream all the time in outpatient therapy.  I suspect these screams signify discomfort, not agony.  I just want a person to realize he or she has almost finished therapy.  A person should start presenting himself or herself as if his or her injury has dissipated, or stop using the injury as an excuse for agonizing screams.

Fairytale

I have so much to say about religion I won't even begin to say anything.

Temporality

I have a question concerning time.  I often watch a sporting event on DVR, so that has an, obvious, delay.  Don't most "live" events have a 7 second delay to allow for editing?  Then, wouldn't you have to attend the game, to see the game truly live.  I would argue everything you see for the first time exists as live.  This goes along with one of my favorite phrases of "you are the universe."  This, simply, means you have the only perception.  This brings up another, more interesting, conversation about parallel universes.

Attitude

You experience everything based on your interpretation of that event.  So, if you have a positive attitude, then you will see many things as positive.  Don't have a negative attitude.

*This comes from a pretty lucky guy (I see my accident as luck.  I promise to come out of this thing better than me before March 9, 2011), who has a very great position in the world, and all of his direct family members living.

Life

A lot of times, a person tells me that he or she wishes he or she had my life, because I have very little "responsibilities".  I just think, "No you don't.  If you want my life, you would have to have a snowboarding accident, and sustain several traumatic injuries."  It took me a long time, and a lot of hard work, to arrive at this point.  I, basically, had my entire life taken away from me, and, I had to start from scratch.  If I could, I would trade, right now, with you, because you, most likely, have a fully healthy body.

Placebo

Recovering from my accident has really taught me the importance of expectations.  At first, I tackled therapy with a negative outlook.  No one can really blame me for having this outlook, as I don't think most people would want to exercise for most of the day.  As I had a negative outlook, I, subsequently, had a terrible time at therapy.  Now, I see therapy with a more positive outlook, and I have a much better time.

Suck 2

I will express a couple things that suck about my recovery.  A brain injury causes the sufferer to have an increased sex drive, and he or she will have no filters, and hence an increase in his or her flirtatious behavior.  When I want to go flirt with a sexy girl, I must stop myself, and I think she probably won't understand me.  As attractive as I look, an impaired voice turns females off, I think.  So, I stop myself from flirting with an attractive woman, although I really want to.  Having a beach house, I see, scantily clad, beautiful females, everyday, and I would have an extremely difficult time sleeping with a female, if I snagged her, anyway.  I will communicate another thing that sucks about my recovery.  I have to repeat myself many times to get my parents, two people I depend on, to understand what I freaking say.  For all people with uninjured lungs, I can't speak without exerting a tremendous amount of energy.  So, I have extreme difficulty in repeating myself.

Existential Matt

Witnessing (and hearing) so many inaccuracies, without the motivation to speak understandably, and correct these inaccuracies, makes me feel so helpless.

Collura Problem Solving Technique (CPST)

Just take anything that annoys you, and throw it, if it has a small enough size to throw.  I do that shit all the time.

Parents These Days

Why do parents call everything typed, like Facebook messages, text messages, or Facebook wall-postings, an "e-mail"?  Maybe just my parents do that.

Friday, June 29, 2012

You okay, Hun?

I won't miss everybody pitying me, because of my injuries.  Every single time I have a complication, as a result of one of my injuries, like when I cough, and all that wonderful stuff, somebody always wonders what I have a problem with.  Since I have a difficult time speaking, I don't feel like explaining myself.  I sustained a freaking snowboarding accident.  Of course I have problems.

Professionals

Why do lady tennis pros look so good?  Outside of USA lady stars, Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic, I usually root for the better looking lady.  So, beside any USA star, Maria Sharapova, or Ana Ivanovic, I have a really difficult time choosing.  Please, inform me of any female tennis player that looks better than Ana Ivanovic, and Maria Sharapova.  I won't accept "Ana Kournikova".

Vinny the Horse

I support Italy in soccer, because I have 50 percent Italian ancestry.  I don't hang an Italian flag out of my window.  I don't have that much pride in my Italian ancestry.  A lot of people have too much pride in their Italian ancestry, and the fact that they know some Italian words.  Have a little pride in your birthplace.  I would root for USA in an Italian-USA soccer match.

Great Expectations

My recovery has really taught me the importance of expectations.  Every day I expect a lot from myself, and usually that belief comes to fruition.  I have to use a lot of devices in my recovery, and when I have a positive outlook of using that device, instead of having a negative outlook of using that device, things usually go just as I have expected.

Hand-made

The term "hand-made" pisses me off.  Don't humans make everything by hand?

Low-cal Blue Cheese

I get so pissed off when I have, like, a cheeseburger and a Diet Coke, and somebody makes a foolish commented like, "That cheeseburger kind of cancels out the Diet Coke."  I want to subtract calories when I fucking can.  Doesn't the fact I take in extra calories with the cheeseburger necessitate the fact that I drink Diet Coke?

Saturday, June 23, 2012

Suck

A little piece of advice:  Don't sustain a brain injury.  I can tend to express positive things.  You need to have a positive attitude to recover from a snowboarding accident.  Having my injuries sucks.  I cough constantly, and, even though I really want to sleep, because my body needs to sleep after all the exhaustion it withstands on a daily basis, I have trouble sleeping.  On a hot day, like today, I would have loved to enjoy the beach, but I couldn't, because I just wanted to stay on the freaking couch, and rest, dammit.  I need to work extra hard in therapy, and I have difficulty sleeping with girls, too.

Me

My parents had a large hand in molding me

Teach

A parent has the responsibility of imparting wisdom on his or her children.  When I had younger years, I would always tell them a new technique on living I had just learned.  Sometimes my mom or dad would agree with me, and sometimes my mom or dad would disagree, and reply, "No.  You do it like this..."  We often fight with our parents, I know I do, but they all deserve a little bit more love for having a huge responsibility for turning us in to who we become.  If you do horrible things, then I don't give a shit about your parents.

Forty Years Old

I have just discovered that Chan Marshall has aged for forty years on the planet Earth.  She still looks pretty damn good.

Cat Power

Chan Marshall looks just perfect.  Actually, Chan stars in my dreams, just ahead of Emilia Clarke.

Chilli Cheese Tator Tots

People who insist Sonic just tastes like glorified fast food piss me off.  I don't give a crap about that ish.  I will eat Sonic, and I will love it.

Everybody Farts

Men that believe women don't fart, have no idea about living.  Women have human insides, just like men.  Women fart, too.

Epistemology

The movie The Change Up brings up an important epistemological question.  Who should identify as Dave?  Should we identify Dave's body as Dave, or Dave's mind as Dave?  The things Dave does in Mitch's body still count as Dave's actions, right?

Mankind, Complexity and the Universe

I always think about the many lives that pass me on a daily basis.  So many people, that I don't know at all.  I have the only, limited, perception.

Khaleesi

Only Chan Marshall beats Daenyrus, in the area of great female looks.

Infuriation

When I make an anti-religious statement, and a religious person gets offended, I become furious.  He or she gets offended as if I only believe that you shouldn't have a religion.  I have beliefs that I fucking formulated myself.  Having beliefs that I formed myself took a lot more effort then taking my beliefs from a fucking book.  A religious person and I just have a difference of opinion.  So what if you think I will go to "Hell".  Give me the freedom to make the choice of going to "Hell".  I don't go to church on Sunday morning just because I feel too lazy to get my ass out of bed.  If truly had religious beliefs, I would go to mass.

I Think Your Accident Made You Taller

I despise when people say to me, all the time, "I think your accident made you taller."  No, it fucking didn't.  I just look taller, in relation to sitting down in my wheelchair.

Eldrick

People shouldn't dislike Tiger Woods that much.  You can have a negative opinion of him, if you will.  Just think, that you have unbelievable talent from birth, and in order to harness that talent, cameras have to follow you around while you express that talent.  I think yould would get extremely pissed off at the cameras.  I just wish to communicate he has a reason for his cantankerous behavior.  Maybe he should hold his anger in a little better, but I don't argue in favor of his behavior.  I had two friends that went to see the US Open, a few years ago, and they both said Tiger woods acted very nice, and Phil Mickelson acted mean, and dismissive.  Would Phil Mickelson act nice, and phony, in front of cameras to impress the public?  Let Tiger Woods do what he wants in his personal life, like cheat on his wife, with whores.

Ugly American

American pronunciation makes me furious.  Traveling to London, for a semester, in undergrad, taught me this.  We pronounce "your" like "yore".  Americans have spelling wrong, too.  We spell behavior without the "u".  Just spell your without the "u" if your doesn't need the "u".  This would produce a word of "yor".

Friday, June 15, 2012

Are You Okay?

People ask me all the time, when I cough, "Are you okay?"  I just want to say, "Of course I don't feel okay."  I have an injured brain and collapsed lungs, that heal every day, along with my brain.  I feel like shit.  Relative to having a coma, I feel just dandy.  I can walk, with assistance, and I can talk, with difficulty.

Lebron-haters

People who hate Lebron James aggravate me.  I think he made the proper choice in going to the Heat.  I don't buy you would have stayed with a worse team just to build your legacy.  Go Miami!

Pure Love (a 90s pop song)

In my opinion, a person who knows how to love, has reached an enlightened state.  Think about it. Pure love feels like the purest form of wisdom.  I have never felt better than when I truly love somebody.  True love feels sublime.  100% pure love.

My Close Friend

This accident has taught me that someone always has it worse.  My close friend's mother just passed away.  I would never trade places with him.  As bad as I have it, my friend has a worse situation than I have.  At least I have the freedom to fight back, and make my life even better than before.  I expect to come out better.

I hate when a therapist thinks, because of my brain injury, I won't remember him or her.

The Truth About Cats and Dogs

I get perturbed when people try to apply human characteristics to pets.  For instance, a person will say that a cat acts carefree, and a dog acts very needy.  The difference lies in the fact that cats have a fucking less evolved brain, and therefore, cats can't tell when people talk to a freaking cat.  Dogs have evolved more than cats, and apparently neediness comes along with a more evolved brain.  Cats can't do as much as dogs, because cats haven't evolved as much as dogs, not because cats care less than dogs.

Slant

Why do Democrats have a negative view of the Tea Party?  I thought politicians organized the Tea Party as a more grass roots capitalist movement.  I see this as a better, more pure, option than republicanism.    I think you can call yourself a member of the Tea Party, and still smoke weed and have no religious affiliation.  Republicans want one to have Christian beliefs and never touch illegal dugs.  A republican will think all this with a ton of beer in his or her stomach.  Drunk driving kills more innocent people annually than "high driving".

Yes We Can

I wrote something on Facebook that would imply that I can't control my left foot.  I can control my left foot.  I just have a harder time controlling my left foot than my right foot.  I didn't mean to imply that I couldn't do something. Bring on any challenge, because I will crush it.

Elaborate

I posted something on Facebook of outstanding importance to others.  I said that I get ready to wake up at less than three hours before my wake-up time.  Time moves very slow for me.  I don't think I did an adequate job of explaining this.  Just think you wait for a friend in one spot.  In one case, your friend walks.  You get excited to leave, when your friend gets, I'll say, ten feet from you.  In the other case your friend runs.  You don't get excited until your friend reaches you, because your friend runs, and moves at a faster pace than walking, and you have the pleasure of leaving.  To me, time, right now, equates to a walking friend.

Fowler

A person that makes fashion statements when he or she golfs pisses me off.  Just dress like a fucking golfer, and bend your brim like a normal human.  Make fashion statements off of the golf course.  The complaint of asinine wardrobes in golf explains why I generally prefer older golfers to the younger generation.  Doesn't this person get that he or she looks idiotic?

You Can't Understand

Just let me know, don't act like you understand my speech, when you cleary can't understand me.  Saying you can't understand me, would save me from interpreting your facial expression.  If you just admit you can't understand me, I wouldn't have to, unnecessarily, repeat myself.  Just act honest.  We have a very difficult time, in society, getting normal people to act honestly.  The pervasiveness of dishonesty, in the human race, pisses me off.

Burrito

After much searching, I have found the number one natural laxative on the planet:  Taco Bell.

Don't Ever Think Anything or Anyone Can Defeat You

Most of my recovery came from the fact that I believe I can do anything.  I don't think that I have invincibility.  I know someday I will die.  I think I can take on any challenge.  For my 5,000 meters, that will come pretty soon, I have a determination to run.  Maybe I won't reach that level by then, but I sure have running on October 7th as a goal.  Having the goal to run will definitely aid in my recovery.  Assisted walking or having someone push me in a wheelchair will make me very upset.

A Couple Corrections/Elaborations

I have posted some false/incomplete factoids on Facebook. As this definitely means a lot to the general population, I will elaborate.  I once said to always look at your destination.  I assumed the wrong factoid in expressing this.  According to the hip-head rule, in some cases you should look away from your destination.  To put this simply, the human body behaves like a pen.  If you push the bottom of the pen, the top goes in the opposite direction.  If you look down, you will head toward the ground, and if you look to far up, you will fall backward.  We must have good posture, because of this.  To move forward, one must stand up straight.  On to the next and final factoid.  I once thought one would have an easier time saying a  vowel, and a tougher time pronouncing a consonant.  Actually, I just have a tough time pronouncing a consonant, because of my collapsed lungs.  Speech science has classified two categories of sounds.  Voiced sounds and voiceless sounds.  Most vowels fall into the voiced category, because they require a lot of vocalization to pronounce.  Most healthy people have a harder time pronouncing voiced sounds than the voiceless sounds.  Most consonants fall into the voiceless category.  Voiceless sounds require a lot of friction and a lot of breathe support.  Just put some fingers on the throat when you talk, to distinguish the difference.  You really feel the voiced sounds vibrate, and you can barely feel the voiceless sounds.  Once I complained about the year, and how it has two "t"'s in it, and I proposed a made-up year of 20ae.  The healthy public would, actually, have a harder time saying 20ae than 2012.  I  only complained because I have  an extremely difficult time pronouncing the letter "t", because I have collapsed lungs, but I currently make them better.  The letter "t" takes a lot of friction and breathe support to say.

Cognition and Memory

Although my cognition stayed  relatively in tact after my accident, my memory got destroyed.  I used to have a superior intellect, now I just have the intelligence of someone who has a really powerful brain.  I actually learned a lot from my accident.  It makes sense that I learned a lot, because having one hemisphere of the brain injured, with a relatively in tact cognition, caused me to learn many things about human body function.  I will write what I learned in my sister's and my publication, "Braintrust" located at the Granby Bookworm.

Erection

You know what makes me laugh?  The word "chubby" to describe an erection makes me crack up.

Accidents Happen

I have learned one thing, amongst many, from my accident.  You should take, no matter how horrible it might make your life, everything life gives to you.  Through adversity, we derive strength.  Maybe I should have had an atrocious accident in my life.  My accident has made me a much more positive, and I have a lot of new friends.  So, in a way, I feel very lucky.  My entire family could have died, instead.  Somebody always has a worse life.  I, definitely, have the perseverance to recover.  I don't need a pity party.  I will come out of this fine, if not better.

My Movie Scope

I haven't seen many French films (besides Amelie, and Delicatessen.  They speak French in those ones, right?) so you can't really trust my movie-taste too much.  I have heard the French make pretty good movies.  This post relates to my top 10 movies post.

My Top 10 Movies of All Time

This might mean nothing to you, but it matters to me.

1.  Mulholland Drive
2.  2001: Space Odyssey
3.  Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
4.  Lost Highway
5.  Blue Velvet
6.  Waking Life
7.  Inland Empire

As terrible as the Dr. Pepper 10 commercial looks and sounds, Dr. Pepper 10 actually tastes pretty good, and it only only has 10 MANLY calories.

Another Connection Between Roy and David

Roy Orbison sings a lot about heartbreak, and longing.  David Lynch bases most of his movies on temptation of the lead/supporting actress.  On this subject of temptation, Roy and David overlap.  Think about David Lynch's movies.  Most of his movies feature a deep longing.  The lesbianism in Mulholland Drive serves as longing in that flick, and the creepy temptation of Laura Palmer by Leeland/Bob, in Twins Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, leads to Laura's, sad, ultimate demise.  Isabella Rosellini's character's temptation in Blue Velvet precedes Frank's murder by Jeff.  Don't think I mean temptation leads these people to do the horrible things that happen in these movies.  Temptation just precedes, and supports the acts.

Design

My dad drove past that eye sore on Perrineville Road, as I sat in the passenger's seat, and I thought about my idea(s) on design.  My first year professor, in graduate school, said to me, "simple means something similar as complex and simplistic means something similar as complicated."  Some designers don't (can't) think deeply enough to express their ideas in a form, so he or she adds a bunch of shit to make whatever he or she designs, look "prettier".  We have had this idea jammed in to our subconscious since birth.  Thoughtless people inhabit complicated design, because complicated design, sometimes, has a bigger size than something designed well.  Well not, necessarily, thoughtless people.  Most people have difficulty finding something they like, in the proper location.  Suburbia and castle-like shit constantly clouds our minds.  We see this crap in everyday life.  Bad design makes up the world.  A stupid person thinks complicated design looks pretty.  Intelligent people (I think) have an attraction to simple, good, design.  In my opinion, good design would make everyone, on the planet, smarter.  Just think how intelligent you and I would become if simple design inundated our minds, since birth?

Roy Orbison

David Lynch uses Roy Orbison songs in his movie.  I just realized the reason he does this.  Mulholland Dr has the Spanish version of Crying and the make-up guy in Blue Velvet sings In Dreams.  Roy Orbison bases most of his songs on heartbreak.  Heartbreak must have the precedence of love.  This relationship of total happiness with total sadness reveals the connection between the two people.  In most of his films, David Lynch has an interest in the juxtaposition of two opposite emotions.

Blue Velvet

I watched Blue Velvet yesterday, and now that I understand the ideas, I appreciate that movie much more.  It might have moved into my top five movies of all time.  Blue Velvet will never surpass Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, or Lost Highway.  I now understand the constant overlap of good and evil.  I understand that we must look closer to realize a violent interior under a calm exterior.  The squirming bugs in the grass symbolize this, and the ear in the woods that Jeffrey finds symbolize we must look closer to find animalistic things in society.

Mind Over Matter

I can attribute most of my recovery to the belief that I can take on any physical challenge.  Believing that I must take these injuries down got me through most of this shit.  Mostly believing in myself, and a little bit of ability helped me to recover.  So, I would just insist that everyone should believe in themselves more.  A human can take on more than he or she thinks he or she can.

The video about Arthur's recovery shows how an average guy, who unfortunately couldn't walk for some time, can inspire us.  Take that lesson away from watching that video.  Regular people, not just athletes, can overcome huge stuff.  Take that lesson into your mediocre life and try something different.  We would have a much better planet, if people would just give a shit.  I didn't think I would have a traumatic accident, but I did, and, hopefully, I can inspire people.   Not just mediocre people make up the world.

Aggravation

Hearing the announcer refer to Ricky Fowler as a "fan favorite" today, made me extremely pissed off.

Inspiration

http://youtu.be/qX9FSZJu448  Watch this video to feel enormous inspiration.  I feel very motivated when I watch this, probably because of my current condition.  This teaches us a very important thing.  You can find inspiration in lots of random people, when they have the chance to inspire us.

Learn

I have learned one major thing from my accident.  If you want to say something, unless you want to express your views on god, like me, because your spiritual views, largely, decide what path you will take, that might offend someone, just shut up.  Don't waste the energy on offending a person.  I have learned this from posting a lot of, potentially, offensive things on Facebook.  As a result of my brain injury I have increased free time, and I have trouble controlling myself.  This leads to my recent obsession with Facebook.  Posting a lot of questionable shit on Facebook, I thought rather than offending somebody and coming off as a bitter jerk, I should just shut up, and chill out.  Often I think a persons says too much, when he or she should just shut up.  People that talk too much and offend people in the process, make me mad.  Somebody might tell me to practice what I preach.  I often offend people, and I have to learn from my mistakes.  So, please forgive me if I offend you.

Positive Correlation

I believe a positive person  has a lot of friends who pray for him or her.  The amount of prayer correlates with the amount of positivity that a person has.  Many people told me they prayed for me as a result of my accident.  I believe that the amount of prayer correlates with my vast willingness to take on challenges.  A person that prays for me, thinks I recovered because god got involved.  That almost kind of insults me, to say I recovered because god got involved, not because I can take on challenges, and not because of my strong willingness to recover.  I try very fucking hard everyday, because I have will, not because god wants me to get better.  I attend therapy on Tuesdays and Thursday to learn how walk, talk and handle things better.  This entry just supplements my entry on my spiritual beliefs.  I didn't type this as a new entry.
